Woman fights below the belt
By Jeff Wiehe

An argument between a man and his girlfriend of nine months turned so heated Wednesday morning that the 49-year-old woman is accused of biting the man's groin area and refusing to let go, according to a probable cause affidavit.

Constance Marie Manning, of the 7200 block of Hickory Creek Drive, is also accused of striking her boyfriend with a dog figurine - causing it to break - and chasing him with a kitchen knife.

She was arrested and booked into Allen County Lockup on $3,250 bond on a felony count of criminal recklessness and a misdemeanor count of domestic battery

According to the affidavit, Fort Wayne Police were called to a home in Fort Wayne about 1:50 a.m. in response to a possible stabbing.

A man there said he and Manning got into an argument that turned into a “tussle” when Manning wouldn't let him leave the home.

That's when Manning struck him with the dog figurine. She then began to bite him in the groin area, according to the affidavit.

The man told police he began hitting her to defend himself, but when she finally let go she grabbed a kitchen knife and began swinging at him.

The man said he ran from the home with Manning in pursuit. According to the affidavit, he suffered swelling and cuts to the around his left eye and ear.
